My co-host, NoraWhalen, and I are delighted to announce that our guest speakers will be Mallie Rydzik, who will be presenting: “Coaching Millennials: What Generation Y Needs To Hear”.
The Millennial generation (those born between 1980 and 2000) is being ushered into an unstable workforce under a shifting career paradigm. While more members of Generation Y have college degrees than in any previous generation, they have been forced to become creative in their career paths, switching jobs on average every two years. This group, which comprises men and women between 14 and 34, has also come of age during unprecedented technological growth. Their understanding and expectations of the digital work world are high, and concepts like telecommuting, social media, and ecommerce are on their career radars.
In this presentation, Millennial coach and consultant Mallie Rydzik, M.S., will provide data on engaging and coaching this diverse generation. You will learn:
- The tools and ideas that have always rung true with Boomers and Generation X’ers that no longer apply and what does work.
- How we, as career coaches, can prepare this group for a changing workforce.
- How and what technology is crucial to incorporate to engage this group.
- Whether the “Future of Work” discussion is being under- or oversold.
About our Speaker:
Mallie Rydzik, M.S., is a coach, consultant, writer, and speaker who works with fellow overeducated and under-fulfilled Millennials to achieve work-life balance and get creative in their career paths. She is a recovering academic who dropped out of a Ph.D. program following a mental health breakdown, which led to diagnoses of obsessive-compulsive disorder, chronic depression, and binge eating disorder. This was the catalyst that drove her to rediscover her own life and work. A scientist by trade, she uses a combination of her analytical and creative mind to help others identify both deficiencies and strengths in their lives and careers.
