Melissa Muttiah
Art Therapist & Teaching Artist, Visual Art

For the last fifteen years, Melissa Muttiah has worked in the DC-metro area in youth development serving in a variety of roles including teacher, education coordinator, mentor, artist, and art therapist. She joined Project Create in 2014, and currently coordinates studio programming and teaches mixed media classes to children, youth, and families. She believes in the therapeutic and transformative power of artistic expression and endorses the process over the product. She finds that the process of creating art gives voice to feelings and experiences, brings insight and perspective, and promotes change. She hopes to share her passion for healing arts to enrich and empower people of all ages.
