Help Them Grow or Watch Them Go: A Special Interview with Dr. Beverly Kaye

Recording:

Dear Career Coaches,

Join us this month to learn from a true pioneer in the career development field. We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Beverly Kaye will kick off our new year as our guest speaker for Wednesday, January 13,  2016, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM ET via phone (425) 440-5100 at: http://iTeleseminar.com/78658932

(Note: You will receive 1 ICF CCU credit for this call if you attend live.)

Program Description:

Study after study confirms that career development is the single most powerful tool managers have for driving retention, engagement, productivity and results. Nevertheless, it’s frequently the thing that gets side-lined.

You will learn:

  • Three broad types of conversations that have the power to motivate employees more deeply than any well-intentioned development event or process
  • Generational differences in career development
  • How managers can use the 3E model to develop employees
  • Trends that are affecting the career development field

A message for our members from Dr. Beverly Kaye…

It was a pleasure to be introduced to you via the interview with Mike Gellman earlier this week.

I have great respect for the work you are all doing.  My own research (as well as Gallup, Mercer, and Towers Watson) clearly names career development as a major engagement and retention driver.  Helping employees see and seize opportunities for growth in their current positions is key to these conversations.

Help Them Grow or Watch Them Go (the book) provides a myriad of questions and coaching tips for managers who need to have these conversations.  Many of them would be great for your coaching as well.

I’m providing you an article here: bit.ly/1n5WSmj (enter your first and last name and email address to access the article the first time) that was published last year in Talent Management.  It talks about issues of “job fit”, and has a number of questions that might be helpful.  Additionally, our website, www.CareerSystemsIntl.com, has many other articles and resources that might be helpful.
